Chief Guest told how Pressure/Incentive, Opportunity, and Rationalization form a fraud triangle. Chief Guest focused on the Computer crime, Electronic crime, Hi –tech crime, is where a computer is the target of a crime or is means adopted to commit a crime. He also stated that “He (criminal) are not born but he is made at home”
The speaker brought an awareness on Theft, Commercial frauds, Scams, hacking, cracking, pirating, phishing, Masquerading or Impersonality, piggybacking or tailgating, spamming, Dos attack, salami attack, software piracy, cyber squatting etc. He advised the students not to store any personal data in any of the public websites such as orkut and face book. When speaking about the security, Chief Guest told, Hard disk is to be destroyed before selling a computer, Atm account slip has to be torn to pieces , Simcard is to be broken after used and passwords should be in alpha numerical with special symbol and so on. |
