Dr. S. Ponnusamy, Professor of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, delivered his lecture on sequences and series of numbers geometrically. The nature of the symbol infinity was explained very precisely and the perception of infinity being in the denominator was also very clearly explained. He also evidently described the role of integration in finding the area when a function and the respective limit points are given. The session concluded on a discursive note. |
