National Level Technical Symposium - 2017
DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING
The Department of Civil Engineering and the Civil Engineering Association jointly organized the National level technical symposium CIZIM -2k17 on September 21, 2017. The inauguration of CIZIM 2K17 started with customary prayer song, lighting of lamp by the dignitaries and the welcome address by Prof. Agnes Preethi, the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering. This was followed by the address of the Chief guest Mr. K. Viswanathan. He educated the students on the practical methodology of civil construction works and the civil litigation faced by engineers. He also interacted with the students about the quality assurance on and off site during the construction process. Following this, the vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. B. Anukarthika, Faculty coordinator of CIZIM 2k17.
The Technical events conducted in the symposium were Paper presentation, CADers (Drafting), Cryptics (Quiz), Invisible hands (Model making), CrackIT (Code book cracking). The aim of the competition was to enhance the student’s technical knowledge and skills. The participants had a good sharing of technicality by partaking in these events. The response from the participants was overwhelming with the registration of more than 90 participants from 12 colleges around Tamilnadu.
Valedictory function was held at the Sivaganga auditorium. Students from different colleges shared their experience about CIZIM 2k17. This was followed by Prize distribution for winners. Participation certificates were also issued to all the participants to acknowledge their efforts. Finally, the Vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Mukhil M of Final Civil. The event came to a close with the National Anthem.
DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING
The Fourth National Level Technical Symposium “TEKIBITS 17” was conducted successfully on 22nd September 2017 at Jansons Institute of Technology, Coimbatore by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The Event started with the prayer song and the dignitaries on the dais lit the kuthuvizhaku. The welcome address was delivered by Mr.Santhosh P, Secretary of Computer Science and Engineering Association (CSEA). The Inaugural address was delivered by the Chief Guest Dr.M.Sindhu, Professor in TIFAC Core in Cyber Security at Amirta University. She gave a vibrant speech on the advances in Crypto world. She shared her knowledge on the current topics like Bitcoin, Hash Block Chaining, etc. She also elaborated the applications using Cryptography and how to securely use the internet with current crypto graphical techniques.
Symposium comprised of both Technical and Non-Technical events. Around 130 students actively participated in the various events. Paper presentation contest helped in exploring the innovative technical minds of the participants. An event such as Project Expo, Mock App, Short Film, Gaming, and Surprise Contest were conducted to enrich the knowledge of the students. The events not only created the interest of every individual present, but also left them attentive. The symposium was aimed at providing a platform for the students to interact and exchange their ideas.
The valedictory ceremony started at 3.30 pm and the top 3 winners of all the events were honoured with cash prizes. The participants were also awarded with certificates. Ms.M.Niddhisha, Treasurer of CSEA thanked all for their valuable cooperation and support to make this function a grand success.
The event came to an end with the National Anthem.
DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING
As planned, various technical and non-technical events were conducted namely Paper presentation, Robo war, Robo race, Circuit debugging, Photography, Painting and Pencil drawing, Short film, Quiz, IPL auction, Project Expo and Fun events. Total participants were 118 from the colleges in and around Tamilnadu.
The Valedictory ceremony was presided by Dr. G. Vetrichelvi, Head of the Department, ECE in Sivaganga auditorium at 3.30 P.M. Cash Prize along with certificate was awarded to the winners, who secured the first and the second position in various events. All the participants were given participation certificate. Following this, the participants were asked to give their valuable feedback on the overall conduct of the symposium. Participants from different colleges shared their experience about AVISHKRAANTI - 2K17. Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. S. Praveen Kumar of Final year. The valedictory ceremony came to a successful end with the National Anthem.
DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Jansons Institute of Technology in association with IEEE Student Branch organized “A National Level Technical Symposium IGNIZ2K’17” on 26th September 2017 at Sivaganga Auditorium in Jansons Institute of Technology, Coimbatore. Mr. Sundar Muruganandhan, Managing Director, Versa Drives Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore (Manufacturer of “Superfan”) was the Chief Guest. Ms.S.Indhumathi, Student Coordinator, IGNIZ'2K17 delivered the welcome address. Mr.A.Vishnu, Chairman of ELECTRICO (Association of EEE) for the year 2017-18 unveiled the facts about the symposium. Mr.B.SuryaPrakash, Student chairman, ENERGIA club, introduced the Chief Guest.
The symposium was inaugued by the Chief Guest Mr. Sundar Muruganandhan. The Inaugural function began with the prayer song and the dignitaries on the dais lit the kuthuvizhaku. The Head of the Department Dr.S.Elangovan presented a memento to the chief guest. The Chief Guest in his Inaugural Address, imparted his technical knowledge about super fan, BLDC motor and the latest Electrical Drive applications. Later, the Chief Guest released the Newsletter of the EEE Department, “LIVEWIRE”. Also a promo video was played during the inaugural, which was highly appreciated by the Chief Guest.
Overall, 77 students from 18 Engineering Institutions in and around Coimbatore participated in the Technical Fest. The day greeted us with pleasant and memorable moments. After the Inaugural, various events viz., Project expo, Paper presentation, Project Presentations etc., and non technical events were conducted alternately by the staff and student coordinators in different halls.
Cash Prize and Certificates for the winners of various contests were distributed in the valediction. The delegates in participant’s feedback session on conduct of whole day events were obtained. The valedictory ceremony came to a flourishing end with the National Anthem.
“A National level Technical Symposium - Gralitz‘17” was conducted on Sep 27th, 2017 at Sivaganga Auditorium, Jansons Institute of Technology, Coimbatore. The symposium aimed at exploring the various technical skills in the field of Mechanical engineering. Around 303 participants from 21 reputed institutions actively participated in various events.
The symposium commenced with the traditional ‘Tamil Thai Vazhthu’. Following this, the dignitaries on the dais lit the kuthuvizhaku. The Welcome Speech was given by Mr.V.Sharavin of final Mechanical Engineering. The chief guest profile was unveiled by Ms. Priyadharshini, of final Mechanical Engineering. The Chief Guest was Prof.G.Ganesan, Karunya University, Coimbatore. His vibrant speech focused on “Conquer your mind to conquer the success”. He also underlined the fact about various mind distractions and ineffective time management of the young minds with realistic examples. The Chief Guest was honored with a memento by the head of the department. After the inaugural function, the projects displayed for the symposium were viewed by the chief guest and he wished the students for their bright future.
The technical events conducted were Paper Presentation, Auto Quiz, CAD modelling, Production Engineering, Poster Presentation, Perfect Engineer, Business plan, Junk Yard and Mr. Mechanic. Over all, there were 9 Technical Events and a dynamic Mini bike racing event. Around 158 Participants from various colleges actively presented their technical papers and shared their ideas and received feedback about their papers. Poster Presentation, Business plan and Perfect Engineer events were conducted during the Forenoon session and Production Engineering, Junk Yard and Mr. Mechanic events were conducted in the afternoon session in the scheduled venue.
In order to provide a platform to showcase the students technical skill in designing and fabrication of mini bikes, a Mini Bike Racing contest was conducted at our college premises. 9 teams from different colleges participated in the event. The Winners and Participants were rewarded in the valedictory function with the cash prize awards and certificates. Finally the Vote of thanks was delivered by Mr.G.Mageshwaran of third Year Mechanical Engineering. The event came to a close with the national anthem.
